Field Trip: Tide Pool Exploration

  • Trellis 808 Foothill Boulevard La Cañada Flintridge, CA, 91011 United States (map)

🦀 Exciting Field Trip at White point/Royal Palm Beach Tide Pools field trip with Dr. Charlotte Swanson 🐙

Come and join us at the amazing White Point/Royal Palms Beach Tide Pools in San Pedro! Tide Pools form when the tide goes out and water gets trapped in between the rocks. Walking around the Tide Pools is a wonderful way to study marine life living in the pools. We will hopefully see crabs, hermit crabs, limpets, barnacles, sea hares, urchins, and sometimes even octopuses!

Meet at 11 am at White Point Beach. Explore the Tide Pools together from 11.15 am-1.30 pm.

Directions: When arriving at White Point Beach, make sure to drive down the hill to the water. Above the water is a park with great views that you can visit. Here, you also find restrooms  (this is also where your GPS will take you if you type in White Point Beach). However, there is plenty of parking down the hill for the tide pools, and it’s easier to access them. Parking is $7.

*This is not a drop off event and you are asked to stay on site and be responsible for your students at all times.
