Nick Dante
Nick Dante is a poet, travel writer, essayist, and arts educator, with over 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages and levels. Nick focuses on teaching poetry and nonfiction classes, but he is open to teaching anything creative writing-related that his students are interested in learning more about. His classes are student-centered and balance individual creative composition with class discussion and collaboration. Growing up among the foothill neighborhoods of Southern California, Nick is strongly motivated by community learning, personal narratives, local history, natural history, and artistic expression. His own writing tends to focus on place-consciousness, deep ecology, alternative culture, human behavior, and the complexity of language. When not teaching, you could probably find Nick trying out new recipes in his kitchen, reading a book under a tree, or going on little adventures around L.A. and Orange County (most likely nature will be involved).
