Meet the Site Supervisors

Ellen Mackle

My career started in the arts, where I supported the leadership of a major ballet institution. I eventually moved into television production, spending more than a decade managing busy, often high-pressure projects. I loved the creative, collaborative nature of the work and learned a lot about organization, communication, problem-solving, and working with all kinds of people.

After becoming a mom to twins, I stepped away from television to focus on raising my children and helping care for family. When my kids were four, I discovered cooperative nursery school, and it completely opened my eyes to how much I loved working with children. I found myself energized by their curiosity, creativity, humor, and unique personalities.

Since then, I’ve continued working with kids both professionally and as a volunteer. I’m a Girl Scout troop leader and a Teacher’s Assistant in the LCPC Parent Ed program, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of many different ages. I’m especially drawn to progressive, child-centered approaches to education. I love creating a warm, supportive environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves and exploring their interests.  Most of all, I love helping kids feel seen, supported, and confident as they grow.

William Murta

My name is William. I was born in Brazil and am now an American citizen. I speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

I have a passion for sports, video games, and board games, and books,  which have always been a big part of my life. I believe games and sports can teach us important lessons about teamwork, communication, creativity, perseverance, and respecting differences.

Most importantly, I believe that every human being has the right to be who they are, to express themselves, and to pursue the life they want. I believe that our differences are part of what makes each of us unique, and that everyone deserves to feel respected, understood, and valued.

I look forward to bringing my experiences, positive energy, and passion for connecting with others into the school community.
