Done with your classes or on a lunch break and needing something to do? Don’t want to get in your car but still want to visit somewhere? Look no further than these places within walking distance of Trellis! Most of them are independent companies (with a few exceptions) They are all unique in their own, stylish ways!

Sprouts

Sprouts, 920 Foothill Blvd. La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011, is probably the best place for any and all things. On Wednesdays sushi has a big sale! If you don't like or can’t eat seafood, they also have a vegetarian option. You can also find a lot of other delicious pre-made meals! If you are looking for a sweet treat, for about a dollar you can get a couple bites of chocolate, gummies, hard candy, and more from the barrels. Some personal favorites are the tamarind chili watermelon gummy rings with a perfect blend of tangy, sweet, chewy, and spicy! There is also some delicious chocolate covered honeycomb. If you want a drink, they definitely have a wide selection of them! There is a self checkout option, that has a built-in weigher and can take cash! 

Alto Boba

Looking for a good boba shop near Trellis? Look no further than Alto Boba, 711 Foothill Blvd, Ste H, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011! Even if you aren’t a boba person this place is still absolutely perfect for a delicious treat. You can simply get a drink without boba or even with a different topping! You could also get a delicious golden bubble waffle. The sweetness level on the drinks can be easily adjusted if you aren’t in the mood for something sugary. The boba is deliciously chewy and the drinks are fairly large. They start at $7.45 and go up slightly with each topping. With so many variations on the drinks there is something for everyone here!

Chipotle

Chipotle, at 895 Foothill Blvd, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011, is a great place to go for a burrito, something spicy, or just a lemonade. They have a selection of options not only of Mexican classics like tacos and quesadillas but also tons of different bowls. Their guacamole is very high quality, it's also a good place to get food fast in case you forgot to bring your lunch!

Handels Ice Cream

There is something for everyone who goes to Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, 711 Foothill Boulevard La Cañada Flintridge, California 91011, whether you want a mango sorbet, a vegan chocolate ice cream, or just a simple scoop of vanilla! They offer a cone or cup, and always serve very big sizes here. So if you’re unsure which size to order, it's best to choose the smaller size. They offer a huge variety of flavors, with about 50 that are constantly rotating. They also offer catering and order pickup services if you don’t want to eat your delicious ice cream on the premises. Flintridge Bookstore

If you enjoy having a new book, Flintridge Bookstore, 858 Foothill Blvd, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011, is a small bookstore that you can get to without crossing a single street. It may be small, but the diversity and variety of books is amazing. Something to note is the fact that they have an excellent YA section- something I think we can all truly appreciate. You can, of course, also find an abundance of adult, middle grade, non-fiction, fiction, children, and so on, books. They also have all the charms of a little bookstore, like journals, book-themed bags and charms, among many more. One time they had a treasure hunt with a free prize if you found the object! Be sure to check this place out, and maybe even support your local bookstore!

The Public Library 

Let’s talk about the La Cañada Flintridge Public Library, at 4545 North Oakwood Ave, LaCañada Flintridge, CA 91011. With a large collection of books, desks for doing homework, and easy access from Trellis, this is a great place to visit after Trellis, if you don’t want to go too far!
