On Saturday, November 1st, at the 7th game of the World Series in Toronto where the Los Angeles Dodgers were playing the Toronto Blue Jays,, in the top of the 9th inning, Miguel Rojas tied the game 4-4, which made the game go to extra innings. The World Series had been tied 3-3, and the moment someone scored, the World Series would soon end. What happened was someone did score, and that was Will Smith in the top of the 11th. He hit a home run, making the Dodgers lead the Blue Jays 5-4 for the first time in the game. After that, in the bottom of the 11th, the Blue Jays were up with 1 out and players on 1st and 3rd base, and Alejandro Kirk batting. Just then, Kirk hit a ball to 2nd base, resulting in a double play. The Blue Jays knew what this meant.

The Dodgers had won back-to-back World Series titles.

The 2025 World Series MVP award went to Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who threw the final pitch of the World Series. Yamamoto joined the Dodgers in 2023 after previously joining the Orix Buffaloes, a Nippon Professional Baseball team, in 2017. He is 27 years old and 5 feet, 10 inches high as of 2025.

Clayton Kershaw retires from the Dodgers
On September 18, 2025, pitcher Clayton Kershaw announced he would retire at the end of the 2025 Season. Kershaw has been playing for the Dodgers since 2008 and is now 37 years old and a 3,000 Strikeout Club member.
